Eatonville Exchanges

March 15, 2021

Hello friends,

This transfer is going by sooo fast! Transfer calls are in like two weeks which is nuts. I've been having a good time in Sunrise though and we've been teaching a good amount. When the work is good... life is good haha

We had exchanges with the Eatonville elders this week which was a lot of fun. I got to be with Elder Paxton for the day and that guys the best. This was actually my first overnight exchange I've done in the mission so far (because I've always lived with the DL/ZL). Exchanges are always a good experience. We did lots of service for different members and nonmembers in the area. We also went to this really cool thrift store and organized clothes and books for them. We had dinner with the Litzenburgers and they are so funny. Great people in Eatonville.

I also got to do my first baptismal interview and it was really cool. Her names Mariah and she was getting taught by the Eatonville sisters. She is so elect and the interview was bomb. The spirit was really strong too which is always a plus :)

Spiritual thought for the week: I am reading in Alma for my personal studies right now and I came across the story of Ammon and I think he's the goat. One of my all time favorite scriptures is Alma 26:12 and it talks about Ammon and the importance of humility. I love the example Ammon was to all of us. When he was brought before the king he was offered tons of Gold and Silver and even the kings daughter, but the only thing Ammon wanted was to be a servant. Relating that experience to now a days, I think if we all had the desire to be the Lords servant FIRST, then everything else would fall into place and we'd be happier and healthier. I love serving the Lord and changing my desires to match His. I am happier because of it. Love y'all

Teaching to the One

 March 1, 2021

Hey!!

This week was a little slower but we still got a lot of stuff done! We aren't currently teaching anyone anymore because we baptized out top 2 people last week. That how missionary work goes though!

We've been doing a lot of member visits which has been great. Before I got here, the missionaries were doing this thing called "50 in 50" where they try and visit 50 members in 50 days and it's pretty cool. The challenge just ended yesterday and we got a total of 55! The point of the challenge was to obviously get into a lot of members homes, but also we shared the same message with all of them. We talked about praying and fasting and how powerful they can be if used deliberately. We invited everyone we talked to to pray and fast for missionary opportunities. It was super successful! The really cool thing is there are several members who had cool experiences come from it.

Now we are doing 60 in 60 where we do the follow up lesson. We talk about ministering to the one and we invite the members to think if one person who seems "lost" and could use help coming back into the fold. We also share the parable about Christ and how he left the ninety nine sheep to help the one. Really cool lesson. As I said earlier, we did a lot of members lessons ;)
