Life Update

July 12, 2021

Hey everybody! Just a quick life update. I am doing really great. I love serving the Lord.

We did quite a bit if service this week. We went over to Brother Mckies house who is the coolest old dude in our ward. He's so funny! He bought us domino's pizza too. We also went over to a different lady in our wards house to take a few pictures. Old people are funny. She didn't know how to take a picture on her phone so it literally took like 2 minutes. We love helping people though! Big or small.

We had zone conference this week and it was sooo good! We split up into four different groups by how long we've been out. Its crazy that I was in the 12-18 month group. Our group was really small. I loved it though. We talked a lot about "Love, Act, Share." It refers to missionary work. We first have to LOVE the people, then we SHARE little things we believe in, and then we INVITED them to do something to improve their faith. I really liked this idea and its not only applicable to full time missionaries.

Doing good,

1 YEAR!

July 5, 2021

I have officially been a missionary for a whole year! Thats so crazy. The time had flown by sooo fast. Some days are slow, but generally its gone by super quick! I feel like I've learned so much this past year. I have been doing a lot of self reflection recently and seeing how much I've changed and grown closer to Heavenly Father this year. In some ways I still feel inadequate and can still improve my skills as a missionary, but on the other hand, I can see the changes I've made this past year and who I'm becoming for the future. I love serving the Lord and I'm grateful to have another year to do it.

A lot of stuff happened this week...

We had interviews with President Metts again just yesterday. It was literally SO GOOD. That man is inspired and I had a really good talk with him. A lot of what we talked about was improving and changing as a missionary. He came out on the mission the same time I did, so we had that in common.

The 4th of July was yesterday too! We didn't do anything spectacular as a mission because it was the sabbath (and it's not like we can light fireworks or anything). I've never been a huge fan of fireworks but it was fun listening to them. I jumped a couple times cause there were a couple that were way loud. Luckily we all still slept great last night.

LAST THING, MY BROTHER GOT HIS MISSION CALL!! IM NOT GONNA SPOIL ANYTHING BUT THATS SO EXCITING!

Ok that's it. Love you guys,
Elder Macfarlane
